How Our Habits Shape Our Life

Walking through life passively is no life at all. Are you even alive if you are not living with intention and a sense of self purpose? These are pretty big thoughts. But they are necessary if you want to be happy. So often, our lives feel out of our control and we feel like we are just spectators watching and waiting nervously for the next shoe to drop.

Life doesn’t have to be this way. Your reality doesn’t have to be this way. By changing how we approach each moment we change the moment. We change our approach by choosing an intention. You have to ask yourself, why am I about to do what I am about to do? This kind of behavior takes patience. It’s the forming of a new habit and studies show that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. So starting right now, just take a deep breath and  ask yourself, how do I want to happen to life? Is this next action going to be positive or negative? Usually, we can tell if our thoughts are positive or negative by the feeling we get when we have that thought.  Is it a good feeling or a bad feeling? Remember, thoughts turn to words, words turn to action, action turns to habit, and habit turns to life. Happen to life in a positive way and watch how it flourishes.
